Manama : In line with the Royal Directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, reflecting his vision for comprehensive development with citizens at its core, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today ordered the Ministry of Social Development to increase financial support for low-income families through the cost-of-living allowance, effective from January 2026.
This decision aligns with His Royal Highness’s commitment to develop social services and strengthen welfare programmes for low-income households, in line with the government’s workstreams priorities to enhance living standards and support citizens.
The Ministry of Social Development shall complete all necessary procedures to implement the order and disburse the revised allowances as follows:
Increasing the allowance to BHD 130 per month for families where the primary income earner earns less than BHD 300 per month.
Increasing the allowance to BHD 97 per month for families where the primary income earner earns between BHD 301 and BHD 700 per month.
Increasing the allowance to BHD 75 per month for families where the primary income earner earns between BHD 701 and BHD 1,000 per month.
