Manama Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Chairman of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), issued Decision No. 4 of 2024, amending Article (6) of Decision No. 3 of 2014 regarding the regulation of manpower agency licenses. The amendment requires licensed agencies to deposit BHD 150 per work permit issued as insurance in addition to the work permit fee.
The LMRA clarified that this decision applies only to licensed manpower agencies providing labourers on a temporary contract basis (hourly, daily, monthly, or yearly).
The insurance amount is designated to cover repatriation costs for foreign workers hired by licensed supply agencies.
