California : A fast spreading wildfire fuelled by hot winds destroyed at least six homes in Southern California on Friday, prompting evacuations and power outages, US authorities said.
More than 500 firefighters and several helicopters were deployed to contain the blaze, which spread across nearly two square kilometres, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
The National Weather Service warned of heightened wildfire risks across Los Angeles, Ventura, San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara.
