Bahrain : The Representatives Council hosted today a US delegation from the Senate and House of Representatives where they were received by MPs Abdullah Al Dhawadi and Hesham Ashiri.
The visit came within the framework of boosting parliamentary cooperation, exchanging experiences, promoting parliamentary diplomacy and getting informed about the efforts of the legislative councils at the regional and international level.
MP Al Dhawadi conveyed the greetings of Representatives Council Speaker, Fawzia Zainal, and the council’s Secretariat General, praising deep-rooted historic relations and strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the USA.
The US delegation was briefed about the Representatives Council, the parliamentary experience and the democratic march in the Kingdom of Bahrain. They were also informed about the council’s plan for the post-pandemic period, the legislative process and parliamentary tools.
The delegation praised the parliamentary experience and the efforts of the Representatives Council, in general, and during the pandemic, in particular. They commended strong relations between the two friendly countries, lauding the council’s initiatives to handle the repercussions of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
