Manama :mUnder the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Bahrain Golf Association (BGA) is preparing to organise the 18th edition of the King Hamad Trophy at the Royal Golf Club from November 25–28.
His Majesty’s patronage reflects the continued support and attention accorded to golf in Bahrain, which have contributed to the sport’s steady development and enabled Bahraini golfers to achieve numerous successes at GCC and Arab competitions.

The upcoming edition builds on the tournament’s longstanding success and its established position as a major event on the regional and international golf calendar. The annual competition attracts leading players from around the world, enhancing Bahrain’s presence in international golf and demonstrating its ability to host and organise sporting events of international standing.
The tournament is set to feature strong international participation, with golfers from the United States, the United Kingdom, France and several other European and Asian countries, alongside players representing Arab and GCC national teams. The diverse field will bring together golfers with different playing styles and experience, raising the technical and competitive standards of the tournament, with strong competition expected for the title.

The tournament will feature three days of competitive play over 54 holes, with participants competing for the title and leading positions. The event holds particular significance as its results contribute to the world golf rankings. It has also established a strong international reputation over the years through the participation of accomplished players and consistently high standards of competition.
The stakes are further raised by the opportunity for the tournament winner to secure a place in the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, scheduled for January 2027 as part of the DP World Tour. This qualification opportunity provides an additional incentive for participants to deliver their best performances and adds to the intensity of the competition.
At the national level, the tournament provides an important platform for developing golf in Bahrain by enabling national team players to compete against leading international golfers and gain valuable technical and competitive experience. This exposure has contributed to the progress of several Bahraini players who have reached the final stages of previous editions and achieved commendable results.
National organisations and companies also play an important role in the tournament’s success, particularly Beyon, which has been a key partner since the event’s inception. The longstanding partnership demonstrates the value of cooperation between the private sector and sporting organisations, contributing to the tournament’s continued development, expanding its international profile and attracting prominent names in golf.
The Bahrain Golf Association continues its preparations to deliver a tournament that reflects its established reputation, with a focus on maintaining the highest organisational and technical standards. These efforts aim to ensure the event’s success, enhance its international appeal and reinforce Bahrain’s position as a leading regional destination for major golf tournaments.
