New York : The United Nations allocated $160 million from the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) to support life saving assistance in 12 severely underfunded humanitarian crises.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said the allocation forms part of broader efforts to reach 87 million people facing the most severe humanitarian needs this year.
The funding includes $10 million to address the urgent needs of people with disabilities across the 12 crises and make humanitarian assistance more accessible and inclusive.
CERF, managed by OCHA, has allocated a total of $483 million since the beginning of 2026.
