Washington, : US President Donald Trump announced the killing of Abu Bilal Al Minuki, second-in-command of ISIS globally, during a joint operation conducted by US and Nigerian forces.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said US forces and the Nigerian Armed Forces carried out a “meticulously planned and very complex mission” that resulted in the killing of Al Minuki.
Trump said Al Minuki believed he could hide in Africa, “but little did he know we had sources who kept us informed on what he was doing”.
The US President did not disclose the exact location of the operation and thanked the Nigerian government for its partnership in carrying out the mission.
