Mogadishu : Somalia’s Independent National Electoral Commission announced that the presidential election will be held on May 15, 2027, with elections for both houses of parliament scheduled for April 15.
The announcement follows constitutional amendments approved by parliament in March, extending President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s term by one year beyond its previously scheduled end in May 2026.
