Cairo : Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development, attended a ceremony in Cairo marking the first Arab Day of Older Persons and Arab Volunteer Day under the theme “Giving Continues”. The event was organised by the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs under the patronage of His Excellency Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the President of Egypt.
The minister highlighted Bahrain’s achievements in volunteerism and senior care under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the continuous follow up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He noted initiatives like the His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Work and Bahrain’s efforts to support older persons through innovative policies and care programmes.
Al Alawi emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to Arab cooperation, expanding volunteer efforts, and advancing sustainable development.
