Jeddah : The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia outlined the main features of the sixth Hajj Conference and Exhibition and its strategic role in early preparations for the upcoming Hajj season during a press briefing held in Jeddah. The event opens on November 8 at Jeddah Superdome under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. It is organised by the ministry in collaboration with the Pilgrim Experience Programme.
Dr. Ghassan bin Rashid Alnwaimi, Assistant Deputy Minister for International Relations and Ministry Spokesperson, said that care for the Two Holy Mosques and service to Hajj and Umrah pilgrims had been an established approach of the Kingdom since its unification. He noted that Saudi Vision 2030 had strengthened efforts to develop the experience of pilgrims by facilitating the performance of rituals, improving service quality and enriching the religious and cultural experience, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
He noted that the Hajj Conference and Exhibition had become a major international event bringing together decision-makers, Hajj affairs offices and service providers from more than 150 countries. The sixth edition features the participation of more than 520 government, private-sector and non-profit entities across an area of more than 67,000 square metres. He noted that the scientific programme covers three main tracks: infrastructure and operational services; empowerment and integration; and development and sustainability.
Dr. Alnwaimi highlighted the launch of the Awareness and Training Forum for the first time under the theme “From Awareness to Empowerment”, alongside the Hajj Council, the Innovation Zone and the Hajj Innovation Future Camp. These initiatives aim to turn discussions into action plans and practical projects that help make pilgrims’ journeys smoother and more reassuring.
