Manama, Feb. 23 (BNA): In the presence of His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice-President of the Supreme Council for Environment, Deputy Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) High Committee and Member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, the REHC organised today the 24th race of this season over Bapco Energies Horseracing Cups at its racecourse in Al Raffa, Sakhir.
The race was attended by Their Highnesses, sponsors’ representatives, and equestrian sport enthusiasts.
Winners of the cups were announced, and Mr. Mark Thomas, Group Chief Executive Officer of Bapco Energies, presented the fourth and eighth rounds’ trophies to the winning trainer’s assistant Ishaq Murad and the sixth-round trophy to the winning owners Hussain and Abbas Aqeel as well as the second-round trophy to the winning trainer Haider Ebrahim and the first-round trophy to the winning trainer Hussain Al Dailami.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, CEO of Bapco Company, presented the third-round trophy to HH Shaikh Hashim bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa and the seventh-round trophy to HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa while Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Bapco Gas Company, presented the fifth-round trophy to the winning jockey Lee Newman.
