Doha : The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar summoned Ali Salehabadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Qatar, and expressed its strong condemnation, protest, and categorical rejection of the targeting of Qatari territory, describing it as a blatant violation of its sovereignty, a threat to its security, and a clear breach of international law and the United Nations Charter.
Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, said during the meeting that the repetition of such targeting constitutes a reckless and irresponsible act and is inconsistent with the principles of good neighbourliness and the relations between the two countries. He stressed that the continuation of such actions would lead to serious repercussions for bilateral relations, particularly given Qatar’s efforts to support diplomatic solutions and de-escalation.
He noted that the targeting of Qatari territory has terrorised civilians and caused damage to residential areas, emphasising the urgent need to return immediately to dialogue and diplomatic channels to resolve differences and halt military operations that pose a direct threat to security and stability in the region.
