Manama : Nawaf bin Mohammad Al Maawda, the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, has emphasised the importance of the private sector’s social responsibility initiatives to support sustainable development goals.
He noted Zain Bahrain’s initiative to launch a donation service for the Zakat and Charity Fund with quick payments through Zain’s digital platform.
Minister Al Maawda expressed appreciation for the partners’ support in funding ongoing programmes, especially during Ramadan, emphasising the values of charity, compassion and cooperation.
He stressed the ministry’s aim to enhance partnerships with the private sector to broaden the Zakat and Charity Fund’s activities, focusing on maximising zakat (Almsgiving) rituals and strengthening the role of charity to foster social solidarity.
