awaiting the necessary approvals from the concerned ministries to ensure that the electoral
process is conducted smoothly and in accordance with the applicable regulations.
One of the most memorable milestones of the tenure was the celebration of the school’s
Platinum Jubilee, commemorating 75 years of dedicated service to education.
The celebrations were formally inaugurated on January 23, 2025, in the presence of distinguished
dignitaries from the Ministry of Education, the Embassy of India and prominent members of
the Indian community in Bahrain. The year-long celebrations showcased the institution’s rich
legacy, its contribution to generations of students and its continuing commitment to
educational excellence. A series of academic, cultural, literary and sporting events brought
together students, teachers, parents, alumni and well-wishers, making the occasion a
landmark in the school’s history.
A significant institutional achievement was the improvement in the school’s rating by
Bahrain’s Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA). Moving up from the earlier
‘Satisfactory’ rating to ‘Good’ reflects the collective efforts of the school’s academic
leadership, teachers, students, parents and the management. This recognition underscores the
school’s commitment to strengthening academic standards, improving teaching and learning
practices and maintaining quality in all areas of school operations.
Technology-driven education received a major boost with the introduction of the Smart
Classroom Project. Through an investment of approximately BD 400,000, the school
equipped both campuses with 350 advanced interactive digital panels in collaboration with
Zain Bahrain, transforming conventional classrooms into technology-enabled learning
environments. The initiative has enhanced classroom interaction, encouraged collaborative
learning and provided teachers
The school introduced a new real-time school bus tracking facility free of cost through the
DC Parent App, further strengthening its commitment to student safety, efficient
transportation management and effective communication with parents. The new facility,
being initially introduced at the Riffa Campus from October 1, 2026, will enable parents to
monitor the movement of their ward’s assigned school bus in real time during the morning
pick-up and afternoon drop-off schedules. Later this facility will be extended to the ISB Isa
Town campus as well.
The ISB set up Science Explore Rooms in the Riffa campus in 2024, marking the
beginning of an exciting new chapter aimed at fostering curiosity, scientific temper, and a
love for learning among primary-level. In another major step towards environmental sustainability, the ISB successfully implemented a solar power project at its Isa Town and Riffa campuses in collaboration with Kanoo Cleanmax Renewables Assetco WLL as per the contract dated July 2,2025. With an installed capacity of approximately 1,099 kWp, the project is expected to meet the campuses’ energy requirements. This initiative represents a significant contribution towards reducing the school’s electricity expenditure which is around BD 19000 per year now, promotingrenewable energy and creating greater environmental awareness among students.
The school’s academic outreach was further strengthened through its collaboration with the
prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) under the School Connect
initiative. The programme provides students of Classes IX to XII with exposure to emerging
fields, technological advancements and opportunities for higher education, encouraging
innovation and preparing young learners for future academic and professional challenges.
The Executive Committee also prioritised the modernisation of administrative and financial
services. The introduction of online fee payment facilities, including the AFS POS Machines
and AFS Online Payments using credit card/debit card/benefit facility, has made transactions
more convenient for parents.
These measures have improved accessibility, simplified financial procedures and strengthened the school’s digital administrative infrastructure.Academic excellence remained at the heart of the institution’s priorities. The CBSE Board Examination results of 2026 were particularly outstanding. Class X recorded an impressive 99.99 per cent pass rate, with Harsh Baberwal emerging as the school topper with 498 out of 500 marks. In Class XII, the school achieved a remarkable 98.09 per cent pass rate, with Giselle Sharon Fernandes securing the top position with 488 marks. Twenty-one students secured A1 grades in all subjects, while 52 students scored above 90 per cent. Theseaccomplishments reflect the dedication of students, the commitment of teachers and the continued support of parents. The school won 7 out of 11 CBSE Gulf Sahodaya Awards for academic excellence in 2024-2025.
The school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded personalities was equally evident in
extracurricular activities and sports. A historic achievement was recorded when 19 students,
comprising six Scouts and 13 Guides, received the prestigious Rajya Puraskar Award 2026
through the Bharat Scouts and Guides movement. This was the first-ever batch from Bahrain
To qualify for this distinguished recognition since the school started Scouts and Guides in
2016, marking an important milestone for the institution. ISB students also continued to
excel in inter-school and competitive sporting events, bringing laurels to the school through
their determination, discipline and team spirit. Cultural festivals, literary programmes,
competitions and leadership initiatives provided students with valuable platforms to discover
and develop their talents.
As per the AGM and EGM approval, the Executive Committee has decided to award the
Letter of Intent and enter into a construction agreement with Poullaides Construction Co.
W.L.L. (PCC) for the proposed Platinum Jubilee Building. The new development will
replace the existing Tagore Building, which is more than 48 years old, marking a significant
milestone in the school’s infrastructure modernisation and its commitment to providing
improved educational facilities for future generations.
The school is preparing for an important institutional transition in accordance with the
directives of the MoE to obtain a Commercial Registration (CR). It proposes to obtain a CR
and move towards a governance framework in which the current parents of the school will
constitute its ownership. Under new system, the Governing Body will comprise seven
elected members, with the Principals and staff representatives of both campuses serving as
ex-officio members. Elections to the Governing Body (7 members) will be held once every
three years as usual. The arrangements will be implemented subject to the necessary
governmental approvals and regulatory requirements.
The Executive Committee expressed its gratitude to the Ministry of Education, the Embassy
of India, the school administration, teachers, parents, students, alumni and the wider Indian
community for their continued cooperation and confidence. It reaffirmed that the
achievements of the past three years were the outcome of collective commitment and
teamwork.
As the ISB moves towards a new chapter in its 75-year journey, the Executive Committee
remains confident that the foundations laid during its tenure will support the institution’s
continued growth, uphold its proud legacy and strengthen its vision of providing quality
education to future generations.
