Manama : General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Police Academy, attended the graduation ceremony of the 14th batch of university officer cadets, who completed the academic and police qualification requirements.
The minister expressed his gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, for the security and stability the Kingdom enjoys, attributing these blessings to His Majesty’s leadership. He noted that this leadership had played a pivotal role in consolidating the foundations of the state and strengthening Bahrain’s national defence and security capabilities, enabling the Kingdom to enhance its position and effectively manage emergency situations with professionalism and competence, thereby safeguarding the nation and preserving stability.
General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah also commended the comprehensive measures undertaken by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and its advanced and integrated approach to addressing the challenges of the current stage by strengthening national readiness and fostering coordination among government entities and national institutions to confront emerging developments with a high level of preparedness.
The minister noted that the nature of security operations had changed considerably, leading to a significant increase in operational demands. Addressing the graduates, he said: “Bahrain is in good hands, and we look forward to your joining your fellow security personnel in the noble service they provide, which is reflected in the security of the nation.”
General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah added that the graduation of 114 officers from the 14th batch of the Higher Diploma in Law and Police Sciences and the Diploma in Criminal and Police Sciences programmes reflects the Royal Police Academy’s continued role in preparing qualified personnel in accordance with the latest international standards in academic curricula and police training.
The minister praised the academy’s pioneering role in training, curriculum development and adapting educational and training programmes to evolving security challenges, in a manner that meets security requirements and enhances capabilities across all fields of police work.
During the ceremony, Major-General Fawaz Al Hassan, Commandant of the Royal Police Academy, welcomed the minister and attendees, noting that the graduates had successfully fulfilled all graduation requirements and would serve as a valuable addition to Bahrain’s police service, carrying the noble mission of protecting the homeland and preserving its security and stability.
He highlighted the rapid geopolitical and security developments facing the world today, which require police institutions to be more prepared, flexible and forward-looking. He affirmed that the academy is committed to preparing officers equipped with knowledge, professional skills, discipline and decision-making capabilities through the latest academic methodologies and best policing practices.
Major-General Al Hassan also noted that the future is increasingly driven by knowledge and technology, explaining that the academy is integrating advanced technological applications and artificial intelligence into its education and training system, recognising their central role in enhancing security work, improving efficiency and accelerating response capabilities.
The Royal Police Academy has implemented a comprehensive academic and training system aimed at preparing officers with strong legal and police knowledge, leadership skills and professional competencies. The programme included studies in law, criminal and police sciences, as well as practical and field training designed to strengthen the graduates’ professional readiness in line with modern security developments and technological advancements.
The ceremony concluded with the graduates taking the oath of office, after which the minister honoured the top-performing cadets and presented certificates to all graduates, congratulating them on their achievement and encouraging them to continue serving the Kingdom with dedication and commitment.
