Manama : As part of government efforts to further enhance and re-engineer services, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce developed the commercial registration (CR) ownership transfer service through the Commercial Registration Portal (Sijilat), allowing users to submit ownership transfer applications directly without requiring electronic authorisation.
Under the upgraded service, the application process has been reduced from six steps to four. The enhancements include improvements to the user interface and experience, simplified procedures, a 25% reduction in the approvals required to obtain the service, improvements to existing systems, and standardised service information across all channels.
The service has also been migrated from Sijilat 3.0 to Sijilat 4.0, further simplifying application procedures.
Eman Ahmed Al Doseri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, said the development of the CR ownership transfer service is part of the Ministry’s approach to enhancing its services and improving their efficiency through process re-engineering and digital solutions.
She said these efforts aim to make services more accessible and flexible, enhance the beneficiary experience, and support the competitiveness of Bahrain’s business environment.
As part of ongoing government efforts to develop and re-engineer government services, more than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated and published, of which 800 have undergone development and re-engineering across various government sectors.
These developments were based on proposals and feedback on government services received through the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul), investor feedback, and mystery shopper reports evaluating government services. Guidelines and service-level agreements have also been introduced to enhance procedural efficiency, improve the quality of services, enhance the beneficiary experience, and support the government’s digital transformation.
