Manama : The Indian Ladies Association (ILA) hosted its much-awaited “Platinum Dandiya Beats 2026” on Thursday, 1 October, at the Crowne Plaza Convention Centre, Bahrain. The vibrant evening brought together large crowds in a spectacular celebration of Indian culture, music and community spirit.
The event was honored by the presence of H.E. Mr. Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development, as the Chief Guest, along with other distinguished dignitaries and Ambassadors.
The program commenced with the traditional beats of the Dhol, creating an energetic atmosphere as His Excellency toured the colorful rangoli displays and various stalls. He also visited the SNEHA stall, where he viewed items made by the children and warmly interacted with the SNEHA children and volunteers.

In her welcome address, ILA President Ms. Smitha Jensen expressed her sincere gratitude to His Excellency the Minister of Social Development and all the distinguished guests and dignitaries for gracing the occasion with their presence.
Following the traditional lighting of the lamp, the much-anticipated 70th Anniversary Platinum Video of the Indian Ladies Association was premiered, celebrating seven decades of ILA’s journey and contribution to the community.
The evening continued with grand inaugural dance performances by ILA members, following which the dance floor came alive with the traditional Garba and Dandiya. Keeping the energy high throughout the evening was DJ Nitesh from Mumbai, who entertained the gathering with an exciting selection of music.
The event offered a variety of attractions, including stalls showcasing merchandise, food stalls serving a wide range of delicious dishes, and colorful photo booths that added to the festive atmosphere. There was also a mega raffle, best dancer and best dressed prizes for which the prizes were sponsored by our sponsors.

Attendees dressed in vibrant traditional attire, participated enthusiastically in the celebrations, transforming the venue into a dazzling spectacle of colour, music and culture.
The event was not only a celebration of tradition and togetherness but also a reflection of ILA’s commitment to giving back to society. All proceeds from Platinum Dandiya Beats 2026 will be utilised towards the Association’s charitable initiatives, supporting its ongoing efforts to make a positive difference in the community.
Founded in 1956 by a group of women led by Mrs. Leela Jashanmal, the Indian Ladies Association is the oldest expatriate women’s organisation in Bahrain and the wider GCC. Guided by its motto, “Service Before Self,” ILA supports women, children, senior citizens and low-income communities across the Kingdom.
