Manama : As part of its awareness campaign on the 2024 Household Income and Expenditure Survey, the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) conducted an awareness session at the Indian Club Bahrain. The campaign, initiated in January 2024 and scheduled to continue until the end of December 2024, aims to familiarise the public with the survey objectives and process, promote community engagement, and respond to enquiries related to the survey and iGA services in general.
The awareness session included a presentation on the Household Income and Expenditure Survey, in which attendees learned about the iGA’s long standing experience in survey administration, survey objectives, and how they contribute to improving citizens’ and residents’ quality of life. The iGA explained the mechanism for collecting and analysing data gathered through electronic forms. This contributes to guiding policy and decision making, and consequently developing government plans and programmes across economic, social, and environmental sectors. Additionally, the iGA emphasised the importance of active participation in this national project, which benefits both citizens and residents. The session was attended by teams from the iGA Communication and Marketing, and Statistics & Population Directorates, along with the Indian Club management and members.
The Household Income and Expenditure Survey engages approximately 6,000 randomly selected families from all municipalities in Bahrain, aiming to gather accurate data for analysing the economic situation in the country. To facilitate convenient scheduling and provide assistance, the iGA has assembled a team of 35 field researchers who were meticulously chosen according to specific criteria. The researchers will visit participating households after contacting them via the dedicated call center number, 17878070. Collected data will be published in aggregates, ensuring the highest levels of privacy and confidentiality.
