Manama : In a stride towards community welfare, the Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) continues its Silver Jubilee year by orchestrating a transformative Labour Awareness Outreach program on Friday, May 10th, 2024, at a labor accommodation in Salmabad.
Approximately 200 workers, the event centered around vital facets of health and well-being.
Dr. Amal Abraham, a distinguished Psychiatry specialist from Kims Health Hospital, captivated the audience with an insightful discourse on fostering a healthy lifestyle, placing a special emphasis on effective stress management techniques in the workplace.
Subsequently, the ambiance changed with vitality as Laughter Ambassador K M Thomas led an invigorating yoga session, infusing not only physical vitality but also spreading waves of laughter. The session underscored the significance of physical activity, particularly for individuals engaged in prolonged periods of sitting or strenuous physical labor, through a series of simple yet effective exercises.
During the program, Mr. Fahad Al Bin Ali, Director of Partnership & Outreach, and Ms. Zainab Akbar Hajeeh, Public Relations Specialist, representing the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), shed light on their ‘Working Together’ initiative. This initiative endeavors to foster awareness among employers and expatriate workers in the Kingdom of Bahrain about their rights and responsibilities in the workplace, as well as the array of services available to them.
Participants actively engaged in an online survey by LMRA, designed to gauge their knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and procedures, with a particular focus on issues such as trafficking in persons and the accessibility of services, including the 995 hotline.
Reflecting on the resounding success of the Labour Awareness Outreach program, Advocate V K Thomas, Vice Chairman of ICRF, expressed his gratification at the participation of LMRA officials, underscoring the organization’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of the workforce in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
