Manama : As part of commitment to community welfare, the Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) continue its Silver Jubilee year by organizing a Labour Awareness Outreach program at the MCSC labour accommodation on Friday, 8 March 2024. The event aimed to empower and uplift the lives of nearly 250 workers, focusing on crucial aspects of health and well-being.
Dr. Sonni Jacob from Bahrain Specialist Hospital took center stage, delivering an enlightening talk on healthy living with a particular emphasis on cardiac health. In a world where cardiac arrest remains a leading cause of death, Dr. Sonni stressed the importance of raising awareness about CPR, a life-saving technique that can make a significant difference during emergencies. The participants were fortunate to witness a live demonstration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, equipping them with valuable knowledge that could potentially save lives.

Following the medical insights, Laughter Ambassador Keyem Thomas conducted an invigorating yoga session. The half-hour session not only provided physical well-being but also transformed serious faces into an environment of contagious laughter. The importance of activating muscles, especially for those engaged in prolonged periods of sitting or physical labor, was highlighted through simple exercises like squats and rotational movements.
To add a touch of joy and cultural exchange, the event concluded with singing and dancing by the workers, creating an atmosphere of celebration. All participants were provided with snack packets, further enhancing the sense of community and gratitude.
The MCSC team, led by Mr. Ranji Kurian, Project Manager, Mr. Krishna Rao – HR Coordinator, Mr. Nixon, Mr Naseem joined the program and expressed heartfelt appreciation to ICRF for their unwavering commitment towards the welfare of laborers. Their presence underscored the importance of collaboration between organizations and the positive impact such initiatives can have on the community.
Reflecting on the success of the Labour Awareness Outreach program, the Chairman of ICRF Dr Babu Ramachandran said, “Our Silver Jubilee year is not just a milestone for our organization, but a testament to the enduring spirit of community service.
