Manama : On the momentous occasion of International Labour Day 2024, the Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) went above and beyond to honor and celebrate the hard work and dedication of workers from various sectors. In a departure from traditional celebrations, ICRF organized a special Silver Screen experience for approximately 300 workers, marking a significant milestone in its Silver Jubilee year activities.
The event, held on May 1st, 2024, took place at two theaters located within the Dana Mall, Sanabis. What made this celebration truly unique was the inclusion of a diverse group of workers, including a substantial number of female house helps, who were treated to a cinematic experience unlike any other. This initiative not only aimed to provide entertainment but also to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of these individuals.
Dr. Babu Ramachandran, Chairman of ICRF, expressed his gratitude to Mr. Juzer Rupawala, Regional Director of Lulu Group, for his support in bringing this innovative idea to fruition. The event commenced with the screening of a movie at 9:30 am, inaugurated by Mr. Hussain Al Hussaini, Safety Inspector at the Ministry of Labour, in the presence of ICRF members.
Throughout the screening, each participant was pampered with popcorn, juice, and water, ensuring a delightful and comfortable experience. Additionally, at the conclusion of the movie, all attendees were provided with food packets, extending the gesture of appreciation beyond the confines of the cinema halls.
Such a grand celebration wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of key partners, including Lulu Care, Epix Cinema, and Dana Mall. Their collaboration exemplifies a shared commitment to recognizing and uplifting the labor force, underscoring the importance of collective efforts in fostering a culture of appreciation and support.
