Manama : The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.
The Cabinet noted the meeting held between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Excellency Constantine An. Tassoulas, President of the Hellenic Republic, and His Excellency Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, during His Majesty’s visit to Greece. The Cabinet affirmed that the meeting reflected a joint commitment to advancing the relationship and enhancing cooperation across various fields, in line with the two countries’ mutual aspirations.
Marking the International Day of Peace, the Cabinet affirmed the Kingdom’s approach, guided by the vision of His Majesty the King, to advancing pioneering initiatives and promoting peace. The Cabinet underscored that global developments and their repercussions on security and stability reaffirm the vital importance of peace, noting the essential role that it plays in achieving the aspirations of peoples and nations.
The Cabinet welcomed the announcement that Bahrain International Airport had won three awards at the 2026 Skytrax World Airport Awards, affirming that this achievement reflects the ongoing development of the Kingdom’s aviation sector.
The Cabinet extended its congratulations to the leadership, government, and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Saudi National Day. The Cabinet highlighted Saudi Arabia’s accomplishments under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.
The Cabinet also condemned the escalating terrorist attacks carried out by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia, as well as its continued, deliberate attempts to target civilian areas, deeming these actions a flagrant violation of the rules of international law, international humanitarian law, the UN Charter, and relevant Security Council resolutions.
The Cabinet then reviewed several memorandums submitted by ministerial committees and ministers and approved the following:
1.A draft law ratifying the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime.
2.The political declaration of the United Nations High-Level Meeting on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response.
3.A Memorandum of Understanding between the National Bureau for Revenue and the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
4. A Memorandum of Scientific and Educational Cooperation between the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
5.Two Memoranda of Understanding between the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and each of the Bahrain Islamic Bank and the Safa Company to support the Ministry’s “Estidama” (Sustainability) Center.
6.The expropriation of several properties for public benefit to provide space for urban development.
7.The government’s response to a number of proposals submitted by the Council of Representatives.
The Cabinet then reviewed a summary of the performance of the Ministerial Committee for Community Services from August 2025 to August 2026, including updates on the implementation of the Committee’s priorities and the key topics it considered during this period.
The Cabinet also reviewed the following ministerial reports:
1.The outcomes of the participation of the delegation from the Ministry of Tourism and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority in the Arabian Travel Market 2026.
2.The outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the 10th Meeting of the Ministers Responsible for Tourism in the GCC.
3.The outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the Arab Media Summit 2026.
4.The outcomes of Bahrain’s hosting of the 10th Meeting of the GCC Committee of Ministers of Education and the 26th meeting of the Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the GCC countries.
5.The outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the Brain Bar 2026 Festival.
