Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Economic Development Board (EDB), today received the Sultan of the Sultanate of Oman, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Al Said, at the EDB headquarters.
The meeting took place on the occasion of His Majesty’s visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness highlighted the depth of the historic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman, which continues to strengthen with the ongoing support of both His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Al Said.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad emphasised the importance of furthering cooperation and coordination to achieve the aspirations of both countries and their peoples.
His Royal Highness highlighted the strength of the bilateral cooperation, which continues to be reinforced by the agreements and mutual visits between the two countries. In this regard, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad noted the recently signed agreements and MoUs, which will further drive economic, commercial and investment cooperation that benefit both countries.
His Majesty the Sultan of Oman was then briefed by the Minister of Finance and National Economy, His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, on the Kingdom’s economic performance, public sector work mechanisms, as well as the Kingdom’s achievements under the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa further briefed HM Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on the developments under the Kingdom’s Economic Recovery Plan, including major development projects such as the significant efforts made by Team Bahrain to achieve the desired sustainable economic goals.
The presentation also featured an introduction to the programmes within the Government Priority Framework, and their role in advancing the Kingdom’s comprehensive economic growth.
Moreover, the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss investment opportunities in the Kingdom of Bahrain offered to investors by the Economic Development Board, as well as strategies to further enhance investment cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and global markets, which contribute to attracting FDI to the Kingdom to create opportunities for citizens.
A number of senior officials from Bahrain and Oman also attended the meeting.
