Kuala Lumpur : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today met with the Bahraini organisers of the 2026 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.
This race marks the 22nd edition of the event and is being hosted by Malaysia with the blessings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia.
His Royal Highness affirmed that the people of Bahrain are the Kingdom’s greatest asset, serving as ambassadors across every field, with their active presence and sustained contributions reflecting the competence, capability, and commitment that uphold Bahrain’s standing and advance the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister commended the dedication of the national workforce, outlining that their contributions speak to the extensive talent, expertise, and capabilities of the people of Bahrain.
His Royal Highness was also briefed on the accompanying events and initiatives, including the “Bahrain Village”, which showcases Bahraini identity and highlights the Kingdom of Bahrain’s tourism, cultural, and heritage assets, reflecting the Kingdom’s diversity and strengthening its position as a distinguished tourist destination.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister also met with Bahraini marshals and organisers, noting that their participation reflects their competence and ability to host this global event in accordance with the highest standards.
His Royal Highness expressed his appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Malaysia, Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), Batelco, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, the Bahrain International Circuit, the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Motorsport Marshals Club, Beyon, Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre, and the local newspapers Akhbar Al Khaleej, Al Ayam, Al Watan, and Al Bilad, as well as all those involved in organising the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2026 in Malaysia.

His Royal Highness also toured the team and track areas, where he met with senior Formula 1 figures, team managers, drivers, and organisers. His Royal Highness also reviewed the final preparations for the race.
His Royal Highness emphasised that the successes of Team Bahrain across various fields of work, and their ability to deliver results under any circumstance or challenge, are a source of great pride and honour to the Kingdom.

His Royal Highness underscored the importance of further investing in the national workforce and providing opportunities for them to develop their expertise and capabilities further, contributing to Bahrain’s continued achievements and development.
For their part, the organisers of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix expressed their gratitude to His Royal Highness for his committed support of the national workforce, affirming that His Royal Highness’s guidance serves as a source of pride and motivation to strengthen their efforts in support of the progress and prosperity of Bahrain.
