Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, deputised Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, to attend a reception hosted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Kingdom of Bahrain, marking the 96th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah was received by Naif bin Bandar Al Sudairi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Bahrain.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah conveyed the congratulations and best wishes of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, wishing Saudi Arabia further prosperity.
The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that Bahrain-Saudi ties are rooted in the close bond between the two peoples, built over a long history of genuine affection and strengthened under the care and attention of His Majesty the King and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and with the continued support and follow-up of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah noted that these close ties come from a deep-rooted historical legacy embodied in the close bond between His Highness Isa Al Kabeer, Ruler of Bahrain and its Dependencies, and His Majesty King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, founder of the modern Saudi State. He emphasised that Bahrain proudly recalls this legacy as it marks the Year of Isa Al Kabeer, with this historic bond standing as a testament to the special ties between the two countries, built on trust and mutual appreciation and strengthened across generations, today reflected in the strong solidarity between them.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that Saudi Arabia will remain a stronghold for the Arab and Islamic nations and a steadfast supporter whose noble positions towards Bahrain are evident in all circumstances. He affirmed that the truest expression of this solidarity is reflected in the celebrations across Bahrain, with its landmarks adorned in green, sending a clear message of affection that Saudi Arabia’s celebrations are equally Bahrain’s celebrations.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah reaffirmed Bahrain’s full support for Saudi Arabia in confronting all challenges, noting that solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for its security and stability are essential to safeguarding Bahrain’s strategic depth and security as part of an enduring partnership. He emphasised that the heinous terrorist attempt by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia to target Makkah Al Mukarramah constitutes a blatant violation of the sanctity of the Holy Kaaba and international laws and norms. He noted that such acts will not prevent Saudi Arabia from fulfilling its mission of serving pilgrims and safeguarding the holy sites, but will strengthen its resolve to do so.
The Deputy Prime Minister commended Saudi Arabia’s civilisational and development achievements across various fields, highlighted by the progress made under Vision 2030. He expressed pride in the Kingdom’s advances in shaping the future and developing the knowledge economy, noting that these achievements have strengthened its strategic position and standing in the international community. He wished Saudi Arabia and its people continued progress and prosperity under its leadership.
For his part, Ambassador Al Sudairi thanked His Majesty the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for their care and attention to advancing the strong ties between the two countries.
