Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Decree (48) of 2026, restructuring the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), based on a proposal of the Minister of Interior and following the approval of the Cabinet.
The iGA shall be reorganised as follows:
Chief Executive of the iGA, at the rank of Undersecretary, reporting to whom are:
First: Directorate of Communications and Marketing.
Second: Directorate of Human and Financial Resources.
Third: Directorate of Strategic Planning and Projects.
Fourth: Directorate of Innovation and Advanced Technologies.
Fifth: Deputy Chief Executive for Statistics and Population Registry, at the rank of Assistant Undersecretary, reporting to whom are:
1. Directorate of Population and Demographic Statistics.
2. Directorate of Economic Statistics.
3. Directorate of Identity and Population Registry.
Sixth: Deputy Chief Executive for Operations and Governance, at the rank of Assistant Undersecretary, reporting to whom are:
1. Directorate of Infrastructure Services.
2. Directorate of Government Systems Support and Maintenance.
3. Directorate of Geographical Information Systems.
Seventh: Deputy Chief Executive for eTransformation, at the rank of Assistant Undersecretary, reporting to whom are:
1. Directorate of Change Management and Business Process Re-engineering.
2. Directorate of eServices Development.
3. Directorate of eChannels Development.
4. Directorate of Government Systems Development.
Eighth: Deputy Chief Executive for Shared Information Technology Services, at the rank of Assistant Undersecretary, reporting to whom are:
1. Directorate of Shared Information Technology Services Coordination.
2. Directorate of Shared Information Technology Services Operations.
3. Directorate of Governance and Enterprise Architecture.
4. Several information technology and digital transformation directors, to be determined in accordance with the instrument governing their appointment and transfer, to undertake shared information technology and digital transformation services across government entities.
Any provision that conflicts with the provisions of this Decree shall be repealed.
The Minister of Interior shall implement the provisions of this Decree, which takes effect from the date of its issuance in the Official Gazette.
