Manama: First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sport Authority (GSA), President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, who won the the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday at the Bahrain International Circuit, home of the motorsport in Bahrain.
Gulf Air Holding Company Chairman Zayed bin Rashid Alzayani crowned Red Bull team which won the first and second place, while Minister of Youth Affairs Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi crowned Red Bull driver Sergio Perez, who won second place.
President of the Bahrain Motor Federation Sheikh Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa, crowned the driver of the Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso who finished third in the race.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the success of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2023.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa also extended congratulations to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He hailed the success of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2023, building on the achievements over the over the past years, which reinforces the standing of the Bahrain International Circuit n as one of the best global motorsport venues.
“Thanks to the support of His Majesty the King, may God preserve and protect him, and His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, and with the help of its people,
“The Kingdom of Bahrain has proven its ability to host the race with excellence and success and demonstrates BIC cadres’ competence and expertise”, he said.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the efforts of the BIC Board of Directors, state agencies, ministries, and various supporting bodies as well as the media, describing them as key partners in achieving this success.
