Manama: Bahraini Youssef Falah finished first in the men’s category in the first late Abdulla Nass Open Bowling Championship, which concluded Saturday. He was followed by Omani Khalid bin Isa and Saudi Adel Al Barqi, who finished second and third respectively.
In the women’s category, Bahraini Nadia Aqeel put on a great performance to finish first, followed by compatriot Laila Janahi and Filipina Uella Marcia.
First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the final which was held at Funland and crowned the winners.
GSA Vice Chairman HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar and Bahrain Bowling Association Chief Ghazi Abdulla Nass.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa hailed the technical level of the maiden championship and congratulated the winners on their performance.
He stressed the importance of the late Abdulla Nass Open Bowling Championship which contributes to developing sports tourism in the Kingdom of Bahrain
He reiterated support for hosting more regional, continental and international championships in Bahrain, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Bahrain Bowling Association Chief Ghazi Abdulla Nass expressed thanks and gratitude to HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, hailing his efforts to develop the sports sector.
He said that the championship is in line with the vision of His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, SCYS Chairman, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and HH Shaikh Khalid’s development plan.
