Manama : His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa inaugurated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s first public skating facility, a project that represents a new addition to the Kingdom’s sports infrastructure and reflects the ongoing commitment to providing modern facilities that meet the aspirations of young people.

The project was implemented under the directives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, reflecting his commitment to supporting high-quality sporting initiatives, providing sporting environments for young people, and creating suitable spaces to discover and develop talent and strengthen its role in the Kingdom’s sporting development.
The opening ceremony was attended by Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, Chief Executive Officer of the General Sports Authority, and a number of officials.

The facility is the first public venue dedicated to the sport in the Kingdom, providing a safe and well-equipped environment for skaters, particularly in light of the growing popularity of skating globally following its inclusion in the Olympic Games. This highlights the importance of providing specialised facilities that support the growth of the sport and help attract more participants in Bahrain.
The facility also serves as a community space that combines sport, creativity and social engagement, and contributes to enhancing quality of life by providing a variety of sporting and recreational options for young people, supporting healthy lifestyles and encouraging participation in sporting activities.

The project was implemented with the support and cooperation of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the General Sports Authority, Infracorp and Premier Q, as part of efforts to develop modern sports and provide an encouraging environment for young people to pursue their interests and develop their skills.
The opening of the facility represents an important step in the development of Bahrain’s sports sector. It also supports sporting talent and opens new opportunities for young people, reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as an environment that supports sporting innovation and investment in young talent.
