Jeddah : Bahrain lost 2-0 to Qatar in their opening Group B match of the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup football tournament (Gulf Cup 27).
Qatar scored in the 61st minute and added a second from a penalty in stoppage time to secure three points.
In the other Group B match, the United Arab Emirates defeated Yemen 4-0.
Qatar and the UAE each have three points, while Bahrain and Yemen remain without point
