Manama : The National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) continues its national tree planting campaign, Forever Green, by planting 206 trees and shrubs over 97 square metres at Jidhafs Health Centre. The initiative, supported by Carrefour, aims to expand green spaces and improve environmental conditions.
The event was attended by Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary-General of NIAD; Dr. Ijlal Faisal Al Alawi, Chief Executive of the Primary Healthcare Centres; Mohamed Ismaeel Al Khateeb, Carrefour Bahrain’s Head of Operations; and other representatives.
Shaikha Maram bint Isa emphasised the campaign’s focus on increasing green spaces at healthcare centres to enhance both the physical and mental well being of visitors while positively impacting the local environment.
Dr. Ijlal Al Alawi reaffirmed the commitment of primary healthcare centres to collaborate with NIAD in the Forever Green campaign, underscoring their dedication to improving the environment and expanding green areas to align with Bahrain’s national environmental protection strategies.
Laurent Hausknecht, Country Manager of Majid Al Futtaim Retail, highlighted Carrefour Bahrain’s commitment to sustainability and community well-being, reflecting its social responsibility and support for environmental and health initiatives in Bahrain.
