Doha : The 23rd edition of the Doha Forum 2025 opened in the State of Qatar under the theme “Justice in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress”, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, with wide official and international participation.
The opening ceremony was attended by heads of state and government, leaders of regional and international organisations, and political and academic figures from various countries.
During the ceremony, the Amir of Qatar presented the Doha Forum Award to Alex Thier and Saad Mohseni in recognition of their contributions to supporting children’s education in Palestine and Afghanistan, in partnership with the “Education Above All” Foundation.
The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar delivered a speech highlighting the Doha Forum’s role as an international platform for dialogue and the exchange of perspectives on global issues, and for advancing efforts to translate international commitments into practical outcomes that support peace, stability and development.
Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, also addressed the forum, discussing current global challenges and the role of international partnerships in promoting justice and building a more sustainable future.
The Doha Forum is regarded as one of the leading global platforms for discussions on political, economic and humanitarian issues. Its current edition continues to attract broad international participation contributing to dialogue and the development of shared approaches to global challenges.
