Manama : As part of ongoing daily follow-up, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), reviewed with senior BDF officers the latest operational developments and assess readiness levels across all services and units.
The Commander-in-Chief expressed pride in the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the ongoing follow up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister. He said the high level of combat readiness demonstrated by the BDF reflects this royal support and the commitment of its personnel to defend every part of the Kingdom’s territory with determination.
He affirmed that the BDF possesses advanced defence systems, modern military equipment and sophisticated combat capabilities to protect the Kingdom’s airspace, waters and land. He stated that its personnel, weapons and equipment are comparable to those of advanced armed forces, and are dedicated to safeguarding Bahrain’s security, independence and sovereignty. He commended the BDF’s air defence units for their role in countering Iranian attacks that violate the principles of international humanitarian law and continue to target the Kingdom with missiles and drones in a random and hostile manner.
The Commander-in-Chief noted that since the start of the attacks on Saturday, February 28, BDF personnel have acted with high operational efficiency and professionalism in confronting the unjustified and dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability and has caused damage to civilian infrastructure.
He stated that BDF forces have succeeded in destroying and intercepting the majority of missiles and drones launched at various areas of the Kingdom, preventing greater loss of life and property. He expressed pride in the high level of readiness and vigilance shown in protecting Bahrain’s skies, and praised personnel across all positions and units for carrying out their national duties.
He stressed that the effective operation of defence systems demonstrates the determination and resolve of BDF personnel, sending a clear message that the Kingdom’s skies are protected and that any hostile act will be met with firm and decisive action to safeguard national sovereignty.
The Commander-in-Chief added that the precision and professionalism shown in neutralising hostile attacks reflect the broader deterrent capabilities of the BDF. He reassured the public that Bahrain’s skies remain fully protected and that incoming missiles and drones have been intercepted before reaching their intended targets.
He said BDF personnel continue to manage the situation with strong operational coordination and strategic awareness, with defence systems working in full integration to provide comprehensive coverage of the Kingdom’s airspace, land and waters. He underlined that any attempt to undermine national security will be met with both defensive measures and effective deterrence, ensuring Bahrain remains secure despite ongoing hostile actions.
The Commander-in-Chief urged BDF personnel to maintain the same level of vigilance and readiness, expressing full confidence in their ability to carry out their duty to protect the homeland and confront all threats with resolve.
