Manama, : The University of Bahrain (UoB) College of Engineering hosted a graduation ceremony for a batch of 2976 graduates who completed their studies.
This was part of the 24th UoB Graduation Ceremony, which was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The batch 57 postgraduates, 810 Architecture and Interior Design graduates, 360 Electrical and Electronic Engineering graduates, 505 Chemical Engineering graduates, 720 Civil Engineering graduates, and 524 Mechanical Engineering graduates.
Addressing the ceremony, College of Engineering Dean Dr. Shaikha Haifa bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa urged graduates to pursue their postgraduate studies.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Mohammed bin Thamer Al Kaabi, University of Bahrain President Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al Mudhahki and other UoB Deputy Presidents and board of trustees members. The university holds 20 ceremonies for its graduates during the period running from January 19 to 29, on the basis of two events daily.
The College of Engineering which was established in 1968 AD was first called Gulf Technical College. It was renamed as Gulf College of Technology, and then College of Engineering after the establishment of the University of Bahrain in the year 1986 .
