Manama : The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the announcement by His Excellency Donald Trump, United States President, regarding the initiation of procedures to remove the Syrian Arab Republic from the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism, as well as the commencement of the US Congress’s procedures to complete the entry into force of the decision.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the move as an important step toward supporting Syria’s reconstruction efforts, enhancing opportunities to attract foreign investment and assistance, and facilitating its reintegration into the global financial and economic systems.
The Ministry affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s appreciation for President Trump’s efforts to support the Syrian Arab Republic, including his initiatives to lift economic sanctions and his endeavours to promote security, peace, and sustainable development in the region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s steadfast position in support of Syria’s security, stability, unity, and territorial integrity, in a manner that fulfils the aspirations of the Syrian people for security, stability, and sustainable prosperity, and enables Syria to resume its active role in the Arab region and the international community.
