Manama : As part of the fourth meeting of the Bahrain–Saudi Coordination Council, under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to enhance cooperation in procedures, mechanisms, and strategies related to the non-profit sector.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the Kingdom of Bahrain by Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development, and on behalf of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by Salman bin Yousif Al Amour Al Dossary, Minister of Media.
The MoU focuses on several key areas of cooperation, including the development of volunteer work, strengthening governance of activities, entities, and practices within the non-profit sector, and advancing the procedures, mechanisms, systems, and strategies that support it. It also emphasises promoting research and innovation and adopting modern technologies in the field of digital government to enhance the sector’s efficiency and impact.
The MoU outlines several means of implementing joint cooperation, including the exchange of information, research, and visits between both sides; sharing best practices, experts, and specialists; enabling participation in joint research projects and programmes; and taking part in seminars, exhibitions, meetings, workshops, and specialised events. In addition, it includes the organisation of workshops and training programmes to strengthen opportunities for integration and support the development of the non-profit sector in both countries.
