London : The Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the United Kingdom hosted a reception on the occassion of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebration of its National Day and the anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s accession to the throne and the accompanying national events.
Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the UK House of Commons, alongside Theresa May, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom; Ben Wallace, former Secretary of State for Defence; Priti Patel, former Home Secretary and Shadow Foreign Secretary; Afzal Khan, former Shadow Justice Minister and Chair of the Bahrain All-Party Parliamentary Group; Sir William Patey, Co-Chair of the Labour Middle East Council (LMEC); Fabian Hamilton, former Minister of State, Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs and Defence, and Chair of the Parliamentary Human Rights Group; senior officials from the Royal Household; members of both Houses of Parliament; representatives of the UK government including the Cabinet Office, Foreign, Trade, and Business Ministries; senior officers from the Ministries of Defence and Interior; as well as Ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the UK, academics, media representatives, think tank officials, friends of Bahrain, and Bahraini students and citizens residing in the UK.

During the event, Sir Lindsay Hoyle expressed pride in the historic relationship between Bahrain and the United Kingdom, emphasising Bahrain’s role as a key partner in promoting regional and international security. He also congratulated Bahrain on McLaren’s victory in the 2025 Formula One World Championship for Constructors and driver Lando Norris’ win in the Drivers’ Championship, commending the Kingdom’s contributions to sports and its achievements across sectors.
Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Ambassador to the UK, congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on this national occasion.

The Ambassador highlighted the historical and strong bilateral ties, the significance of high-level exchanges, and the continuous development of security and international cooperation, including the UK’s accession to the Comprehensive Security and Prosperity Integration Agreement (C-SIPA).
The Ambassador thanked officials and staff of the UK Foreign Office, the British Embassy in Manama, and the Bahrain Embassy in London for their efforts in strengthening the distinguished relations between the two friendly nations.
The reception featured Bahraini cultural performances, including traditional music by the Ministry of Interior’s band, which received enthusiastic acclaim, an interactive Formula One driving experience, and a selection of traditional Bahraini cuisine, immersing guests in the Kingdom’s heritage and cultural authenticity.
