BERLIN : Hans Modrow, who served as East Germany’s last communist leader during a turbulent tenure that ended in the country’s first and only free election, has died. He was 95. Modrow died early Saturday, the Left party parliamentary group tweeted. Saudi Arabia has expanded its Nusuk programme for Hajj pilgrims to more countries around the world. Nusuk is a unified government portal that helps pilgrims to apply and pay online for electronic visas, book flights and pay for accommodation and transport. India has discovered 5.9 million tonnes of lithium reserves in the Himalayan Jammu and Kashmir region, the first time significant deposits of the metal have been detected in the country. The Ministry of Mines said that the metal was found in Reasi district of the union territory. A small reserve was discovered in the southern state of Karnataka in 2021.
