Bahrain : Bahrain has pledged $1 million to provide relief aid and help meet the increasing humanitarian needs of civilian refugees fleeing Ukraine. Ukrainians and people from other nationalities, without discrimination, will benefit from the relief, the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) said as it announced its initiative. The initiative, reflecting Bahrain’s humanitarian role, support for assisting those in need and focus on the principles of human solidarity, is in implementation of the directives of HM the King. CBI on Sunday arrested Chitra Ramkrishna, former CEO and MD of National Stock Exchange (NSE), in a 2018 case of bourse manipulation. This is the second high-profile arrest in the case, with the agency last month arresting Anand Subramanian, NSE’s former group operating officer and Ramkrishna’s deputy and confidante. “Ramkrishna has been arrested following questioning and will be produced in a competent court on Monday,” a CBI official said. SRINAGAR : One person was killed and more than 20 others injured on Sunday when an assailant lobbed a grenade at a busy market in the main city in Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said. According to local media reports, the target of the attack in Srinagar appeared to have been security personnel in the area. There was a huge crowd in the market when the grenade exploded. Bahrain : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today ratified and issued Law (6) of 2022, endorsing the amended Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Patent Law (Regulation). The law stipulates that the phrase “competent authority” means the ministry responsible for commercial affairs. India: A CISF jawan died and 11 more were injured when the bus they were travelling in fell into a gorge in the Markundi valley here, police said on Saturday. India : Three Air Force aircraft carrying 629 Indians from Ukraine’s neighbouring countries landed at the Hindon air base near Delhi early this morning. India has been evacuating its citizens from war-torn Ukraine’s neighbouring countries such as Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland as the Ukrainian airspace has been shut since February 24 due to the Russian military offensive. “Till date, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has flown 10 sorties to bring back 2,056 passengers as part of Operation Ganga,” the IAF statement said.
