Public sector employees in Saudi Arabia returned to their workplaces on Sunday after months of working from home due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development said the return to the workplace comes amid strict guidelines, preventative measures and protocols put in place by the authorities to ensure a safer work environment amid the pandemic. British universities should scrap plans to reopen next month to prevent travelling students from fuelling the country’s coronavirus pandemic, a union said, calling for courses to be taught online. Director-General of Capital Governorate Police announced the arrest of three Asians for selling alcohol in Jid Hafs. He said that investigation into received cases led to identifying and arresting the suspects and confiscation of alcohol making tools and money. He said that legal proceedings were taken and the case was referred to the Public Prosecution.
Bahrain has announced the registration of 23,094 mask violations of not wearing face masks at public places and shops since the enforcement of the order. The Northern Governorate Police Directorate reported 1,538 violations related to the rule of social distancing and 5,057 violations of not wearing masks at public place. It carried 521 awareness campaigns. The Capital Governorate Police Directorate took 367 steps to protect social distancing in the district, along with reporting 3,793 mask-related violations and distributed 4,200 meals among expatriate workers. Inspectors at the Al-Siddiq Center affiliated to the Northern Ports Customs Administration have seized postal parcels containing various counterfeit goods, including sets of clothes, fabrics, women’s bags, shoes and T-shirts for violating the Intellectual Property Law, based on the Customs Instructions No. 45 of 2020. Measures have been taken to send the confiscated goods to the Central Destruction Committee. The General Administration of Customs has warned those who smuggle counterfeit and prohibited goods in all their forms and types into the country saying they will be subjected to legal accountability and customs measures.

The High Criminal Court today sentenced three Future Bank officials to five years in prison each and to $1 million fines in the latest of a series of money-laundering cases by the Central Bank of Iran and other banks.
