His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa sent a cable of congratulations to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on the Revolution Day. Bahrain: Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier, has confirmed a ground incident at Dubai International Airport where one of its aircraft was impacted on the tail by an aircraft of another airline. Gulf Air added that it was working to reconnect all the passengers to their final destinations.
Germany: At least 170 people died in Germany’s natural disaster in more than half a century, and thousands went missing. The damage caused by devastating floods in Germany last week is likely to cost the insurance industry up to five billion euros ($5.9 billion), the GDV insurance industry association said, “We are currently expecting insured losses of four to five billion euros,” Joerg Asmussen, chief executive of the GDV, said in a statement, calling the disaster “one of the most devastating storms in recent history”.
New York: Jeff Bezos, the Amazon founder, and world’s wealthiest man, said after flying to the edge of space, he planned to award $100 million each to CNN contributor Van Jones and chef Jose Andres. Bezos said that Jones and Andres were free to do “what they want” with the money. “They can give it all to their own charity,” Bezos said at a press conference after his trip to space. “Or they can share the wealth. Bahrain: The Ministry of works UPDA completed 56% of the main rainwater drainage line construction, which connect to housing projects in Al Aker area. Eng. Saleh Tradah mentioned that the project aims to mitigate rainwater accumulated in that area which is also a joint effort between the Ministry of Works and Capital to develop the infrastructure in the Capital Governorate and rehabilitate the most affected areas during the rainy season.
