MANAMA: The Final Series of SSL GOLD CUP 2022, which is the inaugural Sailing Championship, has received the strategic partnership of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA). The Sailing Athletes Foundation (SAF), in conjunction with the Bahrain Maritime Sports Association, is hosting the SSL GOLD CUP, a World Sailing Special Event, for the first time in Bahrain’s history. Riyadh: The Gulf Health Council held today the 95th meeting of the executive authority at the council’s headquarters in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The meeting convened at an invitation by the Gulf Health Council Director General Suleiman Al-Dekhil. The Kingdom of Bahrain was represented in it by the authority’s member, Dr. Meriam Ibrahim Al-Hejeri. The members of the executive authority discussed a number of issues on the meeting’s agenda aimed at upgrading the health services in the GCC countries. They also discussed the council’s strategic plan and programmes and the role of the awareness campaigns in promoting the best health practices.
Manama: Bahrain’s bicameral parliament and the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) have signed an agreement regarding the organization and the holding of the 146th IPU General Assembly and related meetings in March 2023 in Bahrain. More than 2,000 representatives of parliaments and delegations from 178 parliaments from across the world and international organizations will participate in the five-day assembly in Bahrain. Beijing: Malaysia invited China and other ASEAN countries to join in the Malaysia Partnerships and Alliances in Research (MyPAIR) program to carry out scientific-based learning. Manama: Works Ministry said that the improvement works on Al Fateh Highway necessitate the closure of the fast lane for northbound traffic and two lanes will be provided for the traffic movement. The closure will be effective from Friday for one week.
Khartoum: Saudi aid airlift sent the first batch of more than 100 tons of food and shelter aid to support those affected by the torrential rains and floods in Sudan. The support was dispatched by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in the implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Manama: Works Ministry said that the improvement works on Al Fateh Highway necessitate the closure of some lanes in both directions, as follow: 1. Closure of the fast lane for northbound traffic and two lanes will be provided for the traffic movement starting from Wednesday August 17 and for a week. 2. Full closure of the highway for southbound traffic between Tarafa Bin Al-Abd Avenue and Sh. Daija Avenue and the traffic movement will be diverted to Exhibitions Avenue from Wednesday August 17 and for 6 nights.
