Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today sent a cable of condolences to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, following the passing of HH Prince Turki bin Mohamed bin Saud Al Kabeer Al Saud. Washington : President Joe Biden will host a three-way summit with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida here in Washington next month, the White House said Friday. Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa sent a cable of congratulations to HM King Mohammed VI of Morocco on his country’s Throne Day. HM the King wished the Moroccan monarch good health and happiness, and the people of Morocco further progress and prosperity under his wise leadership. In the cable, His Majesty hailed deep-rooted relations binding the two kingdoms and peoples, noting steadily-growing ties. Oman : Maternity leave in Oman has been almost doubled in sweeping reforms announced by the country’s government. Previously, paid maternity leave could last up to 50 days but that figure has been increased to 98. Other changes include the introduction of seven days’ paid paternity leave, when previously there was none. Under the new laws, there is also an entitlement of 14 days of paid bereavement leave in the event that the husband of a non-Muslim worker passes away. Employers and workers have welcomed the changes.

Kuwait : Britain’s Foreign Secretary James Cleverly has met with high-level dignitaries at Kuwait City’s Al Bayan Palace to discuss ways to bolster ties with the Gulf nation. On his second day of a whistle-stop tour of the region, Mr Cleverly held talks with Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Meshal Al Sabah, Defence Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah and Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Al Sabah.
