Manama : The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) yesterday hosted the third weekly raffle draw of the Manama Gold Festival. Receipt holders, including citizens, visitors and GCC residents and participated in the draw in which 13 valuable prizes were given out in Souq Al Manama. As many as 416 gold, jewelry and pearl shops are participating in the second edition of Manama Gold Festival, which kicked off on April 13 and runs until May 27. Washington : U.S. import prices increased in April for the first time since late 2022 amid higher fuel costs, but imported inflation pressures remained subdued. Import prices rose 0.4% last month after dropping 0.8% in March, the Labor Department said on Friday. Last month’s increase was the first since December 2022. Economists polled had forecast import prices, which exclude tariffs, would increase 0.3%. Import prices in the 12 months through April fell 4.8%, matching the decline in March. Manama : Students of the Indian School Bahrain (ISB) displayed exemplary performance in the class X CBSE examination held in March 2023. Krishna Rajeevan Nair topped the school with 98.2% scoring 491 out of 500. Zurich : A FIFA fund to compensate for unpaid wages helped 225 players in the latest round of payments, including 61 in Portugal and 50 in Greece, the governing body of soccer said Friday. The $16 million FIFA Fund for Football Players was created in 2020 with the FIFPRO player union.
