Doha : Qatar’s public prosecutor has charged 16 people with corruption, including four from leading Doha company Hamad Medical Corporation. The charges relate to bribery and abuse of office. Qatari attorney general Issa Al Nuaimi confirmed the charges against the HMC employees. The HMC employees are also accused of laundering money and breaching the freedom and integrity of tenders related to the state, the Qatari Public Prosecution’s office said. Hamad Medical Corp, Qatar’s biggest healthcare provider, with more than 25,000 employees, runs 12 hospitals across the nation and the National Ambulance Service and also offers home and residential care services. Manama : Transit passengers traveling through Bahrain International Airport (BIA) can experience the Kingdom’s rich culture and heritage first-hand while waiting for their connecting flights, Gulf Air, Bahrain Airport Company, and Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) jointly announced. From July 5, passengers with layovers ranging from five to 24 hours can avail of a free city tour, taking in Bahrain’s landmarks and historical hotspots. Manama : Children born in September, October, November and December of 2017 will now be accepted for registration at the Education Ministry to be enrolled in the first grade for the academic year of 2023-2024, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, announced. Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa ratified and issued law 10/2023. The law ratified the agreement between Bahrain and Japan on reciprocal promotion and protection of investment, following its approval by the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives. The agreement, attached to this law, was signed in Manama on June 23, 2022. The Prime Minister and ministers, each in their capacity, shall implement the provisions of the law, which takes effect the day following its publication in the Official Gazette.
Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today ratified and issued Law (8) of 2023. According to the law, the Artemis Accords on the Principles of Cooperation in Civil Exploration and the Use of the Moon, Mars, Comets, and Asteroids for Peaceful Purposes is ratified, after the approval of the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives. The Artemis Accords were launched on October 13, 2020. The Prime Minister and ministers, each in their own capacity, shall implement the provisions of this law, which takes immediate effect and will be published in the Official Gazette.
