Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today sent a cable of congratulations to His Majesty King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco, on the occasion of Morroco’s Throne Day. His Royal Highness commended the longstanding Bahrain-Morocco relations and highlighted the importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation to achieve common goals.
Manama : Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, received Bob Thacker, President Thattai Hindu Merchants Community (THMC). Oman : Maternity leave in Oman has been almost doubled in sweeping reforms announced by the country’s government. Previously, paid maternity leave could last up to 50 days but that figure has been increased to 98. Other changes include the introduction of seven days’ paid paternity leave, when previously there was none. Under the new laws, there is also an entitlement of 14 days of paid bereavement leave in the event that the husband of a non-Muslim worker passes away. Employers and workers have welcomed the changes.
Kuwait : Britain’s Foreign Secretary James Cleverly has met with high-level dignitaries at Kuwait City’s Al Bayan Palace to discuss ways to bolster ties with the Gulf nation. Manama : Deputy President for Cyber Operations at the National Cyber Security Centre Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and Director-Manager of Amazon Web, Eng Naif Alanazi signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cybersecurity in cloud computing. The MoU comes within the framework of cybersecurity coordination in line with digital transformation in vital sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Manama : The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) in coordination with the Ministry of Interior conducted four joint inspection campaigns in the Capital, Northern and Southern Governorates, that included a number of shops, work sites. LMRA explained that the inspection campaigns resulted in reporting a number of violations related to the Labour Market and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that the legal measures have been taken in this regard.
