The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched an electronic visa waiver for visitors from the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. British and Irish nationals who want to visit the kingdom will be issued a single entry e-visa which allows them to stay in the country for up to six months. Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al Sabah has been invited to Tehran for an official visit to ease tensions over the offshore Durra gas field. Iran, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia are locked in a dispute because all three countries claim a stake in the gas field. Manama : The Asian Handball Federation announced that Bahrain has been granted the right to host the 21st Asian Championship for men, which will take place during January 14-25, 2024. The championship serves as a qualifier for the 2025 World Cup in Croatia, Denmark, and Norway. Hosting the Asian Men’s Championship is a significant achievement for Bahrain, as it will be one of the most important handball gatherings in Asia. Manama : The United Nations food agency’s rice price index rose 2.8% in July from a month ago to their highest level in nearly 12 years as prices in key exporting countries jumped on strong demand and India’s move to curb the exports, the agency said on Friday. The Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) All Rice Price Index, which tracks prices in key exporting countries, averaged 129.7 points in July against 126.2 points for the previous month, the agency said.
