Malta : Europe’s asylum landscape underwent a series of significant shifts in the first half of 2025. By the end of June, EU+ countries received 399 000 asylum applications, a 23% decrease year-over-year. A two-thirds drop in Syrian applications meant that Germany was no longer the main receiving EU+ country, with both France and Spain receiving more applications. Manama : The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 871 inspection campaigns and visits, during the period of August 31 to September 6, which resulted in the detention of 16 violating and irregular workers, while 54 violators were deported. The inspection campaigns and visits also resulted in monitoring a number of violations related to the provisions of a number of regulating laws, especially the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that legal measures were taken regarding the observed violations. Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Decree-Law (39) of 2025, amending certain provisions of Decree-Law (21) of 2013 on the Organisation of Public Fundraising, based on the proposal of the Prime Minister and following the approval of the Cabinet. The Prime Minister and ministers, each within their capacity, shall implement the provisions of this decree-law, which shall come into effect the day following its publication in the Official Gazette.

Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Decree (58) of 2025, amending Article l of Decree (50) of 2020 on the Establishment and Formation of the Committee for Combating Extremism, Terrorism Financing, and Money Laundering, based on the proposal of the Minister of Interior and following the approval of the Cabinet.
