East Alton : Two people were killed when a helicopter crashed onto a cargo barge in the Mississippi River near East Alton, Illinois, according to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the barge was unoccupied at the time of the crash. Commercial navigation on the river was temporarily suspended following the incident. East Alton is located approximately 32 kilometres north of St. Louis.
Beijing : China’s exports grew by 7.3% during the first seven months of 2025, while imports declined by 1.6%, according to data released Thursday by the General Administration of Customs. Figures published by the Xinhua News Agency showed that China’s total goods trade — exports and imports combined — increased by 3.5% year-on-year during the same period, reaching 25.7 trillion yuan (USD 3.6 trillion). Manama : As part of efforts to improve traffic flow and enhance road safety on key highways, the General Directorate of Traffic announced that, starting September 1, King Hamad Highway will be added to the list of roads where heavy vehicles (weighing over 3 tonnes) are prohibited during peak hours, from 6:30 to 8:00 A.M. and from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M.
