Beijing : The cold weather sweeping China brought rare snowfall on Monday as far south as the province of Guangdong, while temperatures in the chilly north plunged to near historic lows for the month. Bahrain : International athlete Sami Ghazwan continued to shine in the Saudi Arabia International Showjumping Championship for the Single Star category, capturing his fourth title in the championship by once again securing first place in the widely contested event. The Bahraini athlete delivered a remarkable performance in the jumping and speed competition, which featured 47 athletes. Jeddah : FIFA’s revamped Club World Cup planned for 2025 and set to feature 32 teams will be played from June 15 to July 13, while a new Intercontinental Cup will be played annually from next year, Gianni Infantino, the head of world soccer’s governing body, said on Sunday. Cairo : A boat carrying dozens of migrants trying to reach Europe capsized off the coast of Libya, leaving more than 60 people dead, including women and children, the U.N. migration agency said. Saturday’s shipwreck was the latest tragedy in this part of the Mediterranean Sea, a key but dangerous route for migrants seeking a better life in Europe. Thousands have died, according to officials.
